We are always looking for the hidden food gems in NY, but we can never go wrong with TAO Uptown. Eating at these large trendy restaurants is an experience but sometimes food and service suffer. Not At TAO’S. We have been dining here for many years and it is never a disappointment.
If you are not aware, TAO is an Asian fusion style restaurant with a Thai flare. With that being said, eating out can be a challenge with a severe nut allergy. Since TAO’s has a lot of peanut sauce, you would think it is not wise to eat here.
Well, I have to disagree, every time we tell the server about our allergy nothing gets ordered until we get an okay from the kitchen. The servers go above and beyond to understand our allergy and list the items we can order and if another person in the party orders something with nuts the server will make us aware of it.
My favorite is when the dessert menu is presented and the server without letting us look at the menu tells us each item that we can order which is safe.
The food is always consistent, presented well and of course delicious. Reservations are not easy to get but it is worth the wait.
